To the boy
I have seen grow up
from the lanky confused fellow
to the most sorted genius I know
I still remember my wedding
where he laughed
at my heavy attire
and now look at him
going through all the shenanigans
We sure have grown up
from the boy who loved
the first kali he knew – chip-kali
to the man who gives
relationship advice to my son
The boy who chased me
out from my room
with his Eminem & drumsticks
to chasing me out
after my marriage
He has always been
brother and a best friend
a girl can ask for
But he is so much more
From irritating me with his song choice
to driving me out the room
when he gets in discussions with husband
But now I have my partner
and together we can plan the
next “chick attack”
He has been my pillar of
support, my best friend
and at times my worst nightmare
Today thankfully, he has grown up
and moved on from
Chip-kali to beautiful kali
This is the best gift
I can ask for
a bhabhi, a friend by your extension
We all have surely grown up.
